As a newbie blogger and fashion enthusiast, theres a good number of people I like to keep an eye on to stay up to date with what to wear, how to wear it, and so on - a some of which I'm lucky enough to call friends of mine.

Starting close to home...

@MrRyanCharles

Ryan is a good friend of mine, and practically lives with me. He's been in the Instagram game as a Fashion and Lifestyle blogger since March of last year, so with a fairly recent start he's done well to pick up just over 500 followers. His major weakness is a nice wrist watch, after that a cozy jumper and a beer will keep him happy enough! Ryan's profile gives an honest look at his day-to-day, whilst looking as slick and classy as he can. He's a genuinely lovely guy too, so do give him a follow.

@TheEdinburghGentleman

The Edinburgh Gentleman (aka Zachary Daines) is a nod to the young successful men of this city. Working alongside Lamborghini and Bentley, he is subject to a classy lifestyle. With that and his love for classy watches, his Instagram profile is rife with fashion and style, and looks that are to be admired. Standing true to his handle, the man is a true gent, and a pleasure to know.

@Nicola_J_Melrose

Nicola is a great friend of mine, having met her through my better half Sam, and working with her in Juniper, I've come to know her pretty well. She's one of the most self-motivated people I know, and being one of the most popular Events Directors in Edinburgh, she's got a portfolio of events and clients to prove it. Having really stapled her name into the social circles of Edinburgh over the last couple of years running events for the brands she was employed by, in the last year she has begun to pave her own way with her own brand. Of One Mind launched in October 2015 as a PR, Marketing, and Event Management brand, and being backed by Nicola quickly picked up traction as a massively popular company to work with. You'll see her in the city's hotspots, most likely surrounded by likeminded people, and a glass of champagne in hand.

@Riviera_Civiera

Michele Marino Civiera is a man of great taste, albeit slightly off centre, cool as hell nonetheless. His Instagram page is a variety of throwbacks, funny family pics, his beautiful Harley Davidson Sportster '48, and his insane taste in kicks.

He also is the incredibly successful creator and owner of Edinburgh's Civerinos - an exciting, creative, bold & fresh Italian street food & pizza restaurant & bar specialising in sourdough pizza, Italian street food and family recipes. I'm a huge fan, as it's some of the best Italian food I've ever tried, so be sure to get down.

@RoseberryTailoring

The guys over at Roseberry Tailoring have only recently come into my feed after meeting one of its founders Chris McGowan at the event for the launch of the new Bentley Continental GT Sport range - he had a display of his wares and beautiful craftsmanship on show. Roseberry Tailoring, founded in March of last year by Chris McGowan and Roddy Forfar, offer high quality, luxury bespoke tailoring for ladies and gentlemen, and are certainly a name to look for in coming years as leading tailors in the country.

@FitstopEdinburgh

Fitstop Edinburgh is a fitness training and lifestyle brand, founded by my good friend Rory Tolland. Having been a Personal Trainer for a year or so with other gyms, he opted to go it alone and create his own brand. He's picked up a massive following having only gone solo at the beginning of last year, and continues to post great content showing off his intense training regimes and huge healthy dishes. The guy's a top gent - may appear full of confidence, but he's as modest as they come. If you're needing any inspiration to get off the couch and get working, Rory will sort you out.

@JamesDonaldson_PT

My younger brother James started his Personal Trainer journey just over a year ago, and much like Rory with Fitstop, has quickly gained a loyal following of likeminded fitness fanatics. With a continual flow of great content, featuring some pretty hefty meals, heavy workouts, and his infamous "Coffee with the Dean Village backdrop" shots, he is always posting relevant material to keep his audience entertained. With a motto of "Inspire - Motivate - Succeed", he's doing pretty well to be living by it.

@AModelMoment

Hayley Buchanan is the face behind A Model Moment - a Beauty and Lifestyle blog where she showcases well informed product advice, and some of her own modeling shots. She recently featured in Gok Wan's own Fashion Brunch Club road tour, a collection of Gok's industry secrets and his passion for all things style.

As a leading lady in the city's fashion social circle, she still manages to maintain an entirely modest personality, and is a delight to know personally. To top it off, getting engaged to Zachary (@TheEdinburghGentleman) at the beginning of last year, really puts these two in the running for power couple of the year.

And finally...

@LukeDitella

I wanted to make the majority of the blog post about local talents and influencers, but this man is one of my favourite figures to look to for fashion and style, so would therefore be an injustice to myself to leave him out. Luke has got his hand into pretty much everything - Travel. Cars. Interior. Bikes. Film. - being his Instagram tagline. With a following of 128k, he's certainly a leading man in the Instagram fashion/lifestyle universe.

His profile is a mix of modeling shots, some incredible scenery he's just cruised around in either a gorgeous car or a classic bike - more often than not a Honda CB 550 - or a huge passion of his; interior design. He frequently posts images of beautiful furniture, or well turned out rooms - he does have quite a refined taste, especially for a good open-plan loft.

Luke's fashion sense is something I hugely admire, and an image I try quite often to replicate. If anything I'll try to head in more of a dapper-Dan direction though, as there's no way I can pull off the cool biker thing he's got going on. But black skinnies and Chelsea boots for the win, everyday.

Although having such a huge following, Luke does find the time and humility to reply to pretty much everyone that comments on his posts, whether they're asking questions about where he got certain pieces from or where he is. He even found time to reply to me when asking permission to put him into this blog in the first place, so the man is plenty modest too.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

There are hundreds more profiles and pages to draw inspiration from, but the people I've talked about here are doing their own thing, their own way, and that's what makes them influential to me.

I hope you enjoyed reading, if you've any comments or questions please don't hesitate to ask, or get a hold of these guys directly!

All the best,

The EYED Gent.
