Edinburgh Christmas

With Sam being home this year for Christmas, I've been aiming to make a real big deal out of the festivities this month. I think within the first week of December we'd already visited the Market at least five times.

Munch

Finding that I can't keep away from freshly baked doughnuts covered in Nutella, and of course all the warm fruity drinks on offer - the hot Rekorderlig Plum Cider is my favourite this season. For Sam, of course it's the cheese that's drawing her attention, the freshly stripped Raclette cheese is phenomenal. Along with cheese filled Bratwurst and melted chocolate fountains, food and drink wise there is something for everyone, perhaps not if you're trying to detox this month...

(but who detoxes in December?)

So... What are you wearing?

It's all pea-coats and overcoats, scarves and leather gloves for the men following the fashion trends this winter - camel overcoats are literally everywhere. Doesn't mean I don't want one though...

For me, everyday is a blazer day - depending on the weather of course, can always throw a coat on top.

This is from a visit to the market last week - white shirt (Topman), green/teal knitted jumper, brown-checked woollen scarf, subtly tweed navy blazer with a brown tweed pocket square (Next), plum chinos to go with the cider in hand, (River Island), my favourite brown suede loafers (Topman), finished off with the Classic Glasgow watch from Daniel Wellington. This get-up is my go-to style for the season, as I mentioned before you can throw an overcoat/peacoat on top for the cold.

Fun times

There's a couple rides at the market, one of which both Sam and I are too scared to even think about going on (I know right, what jessies...), but the other two are great fun.

The Yeti has about 12 forward-facing carriages that carry up to 3 people each, and rotates both clockwise and anti-clock wise (yeah, that's essentially backwards. Not for me.) I tried to take some photo's of us on the ride but I've a feeling the missus wouldn't approve...

The other ride we went on was the Carousel. Now bearing in mind we're a fair few drinks in by this time, I did manage to get a couple photos from our ride on the unicorns...

I mean, I know who I think looks more drunk...

All in all, the market is definitely worth a visit (or ten), as you'll find something new to do, eat, and drink, every time.

Merry Christmas everyone!
